One of those days.

Okay, this is a rant to get something out of my head. This was one of those days where nothing seemed to go right. Tanan asked me to bring the camera to work today, and I forgot. I went and saw the temp agencies and forgot to shave - I must have looked SO unkempt. The 30GB hard drive in my PC (you know, the one I use to play games on?) just up and decided not to work today. I struggled for hours to get it to work, but even though CMOS knew the drive was there, it just couldn't mount the drive to save it's life. I'd say I hate Microsoft, but this is more a generic PC problem. Besides, picking on Microsoft and Bill Gates is too easy. It was a Western Digital also - which is surprising. However, the damn drive is like 3.5 years old, so it had lived a good life. So I rebuilt the damn windows box today. I didn't have any crucial data on the drive that died, so I just reinstalled all the applications onto another drive - a Quantum Fireball 30 GB extracted from dead G4 cube guts.

On the other hand, something that went right today:

I was over at one of the temp agencies giving them my updated resume and W4s, and they were trying to place me at a job and so needed a file copy of my resume. I said "Sure!", pulled out this 'Cute' little white iBook, and put her email address in. It had already detected an unprotected wireless network in the building, and had connected to it. So, when I hit SEND, it started sending immediately - even though the laptop wasn't wired to anything and sitting in my lap. The lady had a phone called, talked for a minute, and when she was done with the phone, she looked at her screen, and there was my email with my resume.

"How'd you do that?" she asked. I just smiled.
