More Christmas! Woot!

cinsangel, shaunpup, and aayrick. Met Aayrick in the morning at my place, played Horizons a bit, and then drove off to the wilds of Berkeley to meet up with Eden (Cinsangel) and Shaun, but managed to get totally backwards and lost in the wilds of the People's Republic of Berkeley trying to find the meetup spot where we'd gotten together every year for at least the last three years. Finally got there (an hour late) just as food was arriving, so it worked perfectly, and as usually my dour moods were immediately brightened by Eden's laughter. She presented me with...
SURPRISE ART!
I was *SO* surprised I just had to hug the girl! So all four of us had pizza and laughed and walked up and down the Berkeley streets talking about gaming and comics and enjoyed eachother's company for a couple of hours before going back to our respective homes. Aayrick and I went back to my house, gamed a bit more, and turned in for the night. All in all a short but eventful and wonderful weekend.
On the downside I'm now back at work. I hate working here. I'm wearing three layers of clothes and sitting by a space heater and I'm still cold. For some reason this place makes my back/shoulders ache badly, so that I'm forced to take painkillers at work just to get through the day. Not to mention the splitting headaches from all the beeping forklifts. This is NOT what I was supposed to be doing in this job. I may avoid data entry jobs in the future and stick to area administration/support/receptionist gigs. By the time I get home for the day I'm so beat and wiped out all I can do is turn myself to auto-pilot and game for a few hours before collapsing for the night. Aayrick complains I've had more time to play the game than he has! :) But I've made a lot of progress:

WOOT! And I'm still writing fanfic bits. Nothing I'm proud enough to show off yet, but it's getting there. Most of that gets done at work, actually. Since Roger gave me a $25 gift certificate for Amazon.com for christmas, I used it to buy the game and used the free shipping I have with them. My splurge for December. I'm not sure how well it will run on my machine, but I'll give it a try. The machine really is severely outta date and I'm gonna need a lotta help to get it outta the doldrums. It needs a faster processor (AMD preferrably), new RAM (preferrably DDR400), new video card (preferrably NVidia), and a new MB that will handle all those. That's a long term project because I just don't have the money for that.
So Netlady was the only one that liked this LJ icon? I'm wondering if I should try doing it over. I guess I'm not very good at this.
Today one of my best online friends is moving away from her husband, which also has me depressed and teary.
