Ups and Downs
May. 8th, 2003 11:42 pmGood news and bad news.
The bad news is that I've only gotten one check from the unemployment insurance people since I filed on 3/3/03. I called them to ask why. They told me that I quit a job, which wasn't authorized - you remember the one - the Trend Tech job. They said that the agency told them this. I went to the agency.. they said they never told EDD anything like that, and to appeal it. Meanwhile I'm out of all my meds and Jeff's paycheck tomorrow is going to have to cover it, which means we will have next to no money until whenever the check from the house in Petaluma comes.
Good news? After worrying because Jeff was two hours late coming home from work, he gifts me with a new laptop! Well, it's not new, but it works - which makes it head-over-tails better than the old one. It's a 400 MHz G4 Titanium powerbook with a quarter gig of RAM, 10 gig hard drive and DVD-ROM. It's something of a step down from my last one, but it runs faster under OS X, has more RAM, and a much bigger screen (15" as opposed to 14" and lots more resolution). It's a previously used machine, but unlike the past prototype unit, this one appears to be an actual production unit.
I have a TiBook! WOOOOOOT! :) *hugz it lovingly*
